Story highlights

Deepika Padukone's look from last year was one of the most underwhelming ones as many felt that she did not stick to the theme. This year, however, the Indian actress made an effort to try something different.

As the Met Gala 2019 takes over the world of fashion, our Indian beauties Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone made it to the event to showcase their own brand of style and fashion. While Priyanka channelled a frosty queen vibe in a silver-coloured ensemble, Deepika came to the pink carpet wearing pink.

Deepika is usually known for playing safe with her outfits, choosing colours and styles that suit her body type. This, in fact, led to a lot of backlash to her last year’s outfit when she turned up to the event in a satin slip dress, in a complete disarray with the theme.

This year, however, Deepika has tried to stick to the theme ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ as she wore a gorgeous custom-made pink gown that was made from pink lurex jacquard with 3D printed pieces.

She completed the look with dark lips and purple eyeshadow. She made her hair in a bouffant style.
