'Maula Jatt' trailer: Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan team up for Pakistan's most expensive film

Fawad Khan is all set to return to Pakistani screens with what's being touted as the most expensive film made in the country yet- 'The Legend of Maula Jatt'. The film's trailer was released on Friday and caught the fancy of netizens in the subcontinent almost immediately.

The film also stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Mallick and the trailer revealed the first look of these characters which are pretty impressive. 

A lot of fans have been waiting to see Fawad Khan in a new film. The actor who was last seen in a cameo role in Bollywood film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' underwent a physical transformation for his role in Maula Jatt.

The movie is said to be a tribute to the Punjabi-language gandasa action genre in Pakistani cinema, the best-known of which is the popular classic Maula Jatt, made in 1979 and starring Sultan Rahi.

First look title poster of the film was revealed on 27 February 2015 on the official Facebook page while the trailer was launched almost 4 years later, on 21 December 2018.

The movie will reportedly be released in Pakistan and China on the same day on Eid-ul-Fitr in June 2019.
