Kriti Sanon on #MeToo: It has instilled fear in every industry and that is important

Indian actress Kriti Sanon is now gearing up for the release of her comedy-drama film ‘Housefull 4’ as she spoke about #MeToo in Bollywood. 

The film to start with was mired in controversies as it was being helmed by Sajid Khan who was also named in the movement by several women who had come in correspondence with the maker. Sajid then stepped down since the film’s leading actors disapproved of being a part of a venture that had a #MeToo accused in the film. 

The film features Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Bobby Deol, Kriti Kharbanda, Riteish Deshmukh and Pooja Hedge in lead roles. Watch the trailer of 'Housefull 4' here. 

Talking about her film and the MeToo movement, Kriti Sanon said, “I have always been for the movement and have been vocal about it. It takes a lot of courage to come out in the open and speak about what you have been through. It is unfortunate that there is no legal way to resolve this conclusively but at least it has instilled fear in every industry and that is important.” 

She added, “I am fortunate that I have not been through any of this, but I have noticed that meetings, which would earlier happen at home, are now scheduled outside to avoid coming across as shady.”

The movie is the fourth installment of the superhit Housefull franchise. It has been directed by Farhad Samji and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. 

'Housefull' will release on October 25, 2019. 

As for other projects, Kriti will also be seen in Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama 'Panipat' with Arjun Kapoor and has a cameo role in 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh' with Kartik Aaryan. She will also be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s film titled 'Mimi' that is based on the concept of surrogacy.
