In addition to actors like ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas and Sushant Singh Rajput, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also donated a huge sum to aid in rebuilding the flood-hit state of Kerala.

It is being reported that Amitabh donated a sum of Rs 51 lakh in cash to Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund along with items from his personal collection. The items include around 80 jackets, 25 pants, 20 shirts and scarves. He has also donated around 40 shoes.

Other actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Esha Gupta, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, have also extended their help by donating money.

The floods have, to date, taken the lives of 370 people.

When other world countries offered to help Kerala, India refused to take any financial aid. On Wednesday, India declined the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s help of Rs 700-crore aid as they said that UAE is home to around 2.8 million expatriate Indians, most of whom hail from Kerala. The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in response: “The government of India deeply appreciates offers from several countries to assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts after the tragic floods.”
