The worries don’t seem to end for the entertainment industry as Tamilrockers leaked Jyotika’s film ‘Ponmagal Vandhal’, a few hours before its world premiere on Amazon Prime Video Thursday. 

What’s more worrisome, is that the film’s HD version was available on the leaked website. 

On Thursday night, the film’s release was advanced by a couple of hours. It was originally scheduled to stream from midnight on Amazon Prime.

‘Ponmagal Vandhal’, which stars Jyotika in the role of a lawyer, is the first mainstream Tamil film to have a direct OTT release. It’s one of the many films that decided to forego theatrical release as film theatres continue to remain shut in the country as part of lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. 

Earlier, on the film’s decision for OTT release, Jyotika had said, “At 2D Entertainment (Suriya’s production house), we are on the lookout for fresh content. If we get something exciting on OTT platform, I’d love to give it a try. I’m totally open to the idea.”

The film ‘Ponmagal Vandhal’ is directed by debutant JJ Fredrick. It stars Jyotika in the role of a lawyer for the first time. It’s the story of an honest lawyer’s attempts to redeem a wrongfully convicted woman. It also stars K Bhagyaraj, R Parthiepan, Pandiarajan and Pratap Pothen.
