'Joker' gets 'A' certificate with no cuts for India release

With an almost slow weekend this time around at the box office in India, there’s lots riding on the national holiday for Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 as the nation remembers Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. 

Joaquin Phoenix starrer ‘Joker’ is releasing on October 2 along with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘War’. The film has been cleared by the Indian censor board without any cuts and has been granted an ‘A’ certificate. 

The movie, according to sources mentioned in media reports, will have two mutes. 

The film is directed by Todd Philips and is based on the popular DC supervillain of the same name. 

The film and Joquin’s performance has been abuzz with an expected Oscar nod. It even got a standing ovation of 8 minutes at the Venice Film Festival.
