Two big-ticket films Gold and Satyameva Jayate will clash at the box office on August 15, 2018 -- on India’s Independence Day. While one deals with corruption and an officer going rogue for the sake of his nation, the other plays on nostalgia and is all about winning the cup for the post-British era India.

John Abraham on his film Satyameva Jayate clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Gold said that he has nothing to worry about as there’s enough space for two films to release and gain traction at the same time.

In an interview when John was recently asked why he decided to release his film on Independence day, he said, "We chose August 15 as the release date of this film because it’s a very commercial date and by releasing your film on that day, you are able to make good money through your film."

He added, "If we had a solo release of this film in the next week of Independence Day then also we would not be able to do that much business which we will be able to do on Independence Day with Gold so, it makes more sense to release it on a holiday." When asked about the clash with Akshay's Gold, he answered, "I think there is enough space for two big films on a holiday. It’s not competing. We are complementing each other. We would love if people go and see Satyameva Jayate and we would be absolutely happy if people go and see Gold."

On the arising debate on whether two films that release on the same date can succeed in getting opening numbers, John added, "As far as competing with Akshay is concerned, I want to make it clear that he is my senior in the industry. I love him and I have always wished the best for him and I am sure he also wants best for me."
