Story highlights

The actor first announced about his illness in March this year and left the country for treatment soon after.

A few days back we had reported that Irrfan Khan would be coming back to the country during Diwali. Turns out, the actor did come but only for two days. The actor who is suffering from neuroendocrine tumour and currently undergoing treatment in London did not want to publicise his visit to India.

According to his publicist, the actor made a brief visit to the Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple in Nashik, where he performed a havan. Two days later he returned to London.

The actor first announced about his illness in March this year and left for treatment soon after. Since then, the actor has been maintaining a low profile, and sometimes shares cryptic messages on social media from there.

In an interview a few months back, Irrfan had stated that how the treatment takes a toll on him at times. "It has put me in a rapture state. Initially, I was shaken. I didn't know. I was very, very vulnerable. But slowly, there is another way to look at things that are much more powerful and much more productive and much more healthy and I just want people to believe that nature is much more trustworthy and one must trust that," he said.

The actor was last seen in the film Karwaan, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.
