Move over the news of Idris Elba playing the next James Bond (there were some serious suggestions that this might happen) as the actor has now signed up for something interesting.

Announced today, Idris Elba along with Jonathan Majors will star in Netflix movie ‘The Harder They Fall’ that will be produced by rap mogul Jay-Z.

The film follows the story of a character named Nat Love (played by Majors) who discovers that a man (played by Elba) who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison and decides to reunite with his gang to track his enemy down and seek his revenge.

The film will be helmed by British musician Jeymes Samuel known by his stage name, Bullitts. This will mark his directorial debut. He previously worked with Jay-Z on ‘The Great Gatsby’ soundtrack.

Samuel will also produce the film alongside Jay-Z, James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender.

Meanwhile, Elba recently co-starred with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in ‘Fast & Furious’ spinoff ‘Hobbs & Shaw’.

He will be seen next in Tom Hoopers’ ‘Cats’ adaptation at Universal and is currently shooting ‘The Suicide Squad’ with actress Margot Robbie. He has replaced WIll Smith in the film.

Elba also has George Miller movie ‘Three Thousand Years and Longing’ opposite actress Tilda Swinton.
