Hugh Grant is convincing voters in UK to not vote for Boris Johnson

Actor Hugh Grant is going door-to-door in London to convince people to not vote for Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Grant is reportedly against the "terrifying prospect" of five more years of Johnson's government. 

On Monday, the actor campaigned at Westminster for Liberal Democrat candidate Chuka Umunna and branded the PM a 'Pinnochio'. 

The actor is a vocal supporter of keeping the United Kingdom within the European Union and plans to campaign for it within the Labour party as well as in the Liberal Democrats.

Speaking to the press, Grant said, "I don't think that what's left of the Conservative party - once they've now expelled anyone who is responsible or decent or sane - is something that I could contemplate as the government for the country I love."

On Sunday he campaigned for Liberal Democrat Luciana Berger and is set to appear alongside Labour party candidate Faisa Shaheen on Wednesday. 

The actor has expressed concern that a victory at next week's election will give Johnson the impetus to push Brexit further. 

"The very fact that it can be contemplated by Boris Johnson and his gang is a demonstration of just how irresponsible and narcissistic they are and they have to be stopped," the actor was quoted as saying to Business Insider. 

When the actor was asked would he leave the UK if Johnson came to power, the actor said, "I would never want to leave if I can possibly help it unless I am arrested by Boris government for sedition."

The UK general election is set to take place on December 12.
