'Game of Thrones' season 8 ratings continue to drop, episode 4 is the second-lowest rated ever

The hit series’ lowest-rated episode remains season five’s sixth episode titled ‘Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken’ which featured controversial rape scene of Sansa Stark at the hands of Ramsay Bolton.
HBO and makers of ‘Game of Thrones’ would agree that the response to the last and final season of the hit show has been pretty average barring episode three that had Arya Stark kill the Night King. Titled ‘Long Night’, the episode can be called the highlight of the season up until now.
The last episode ‘The Last of the Starks’ did not measure up to expectations as it scored the second-lowest rating in the series’ eight-year run. The episode has a 61% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Read the review of episode 4 here.

Many believe that people continue to watch the show after boring episodes this season as everyone wants to see how it ends. The critics’ consensus on the website reads, “The Last of the Starks strains to set the board for Game of Thrones’ conclusion, but serves up enough political intrigue and touching character interactions to satisfy.”
Some also feel that season 8 does not see every character or plot-based story decision earned. Showing Brienne of Tarth as weak and someone who gives in to her fantasy or Jon Snow the developed hero making a fool of himself throughout the season -- has not gone down too well.
Episode four is also the lowest rated in the show’s run, with a score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. By comparison, the first season had a 91% score, seasons two and three retain a 96%, season four is the best rated with a 97% score, while seasons five, six and seven have 93%, 94% and 93% score, respectively.
