'Game of Thrones' music composer Ramin Djawadi reveals final season's music will be 'more epic than ever'

Anyone who is a fan of 'Game of Thrones' would also swear by its hugely popular background music that runs through and through every season. Picking up and dropping at times, in accordance with the changing sequence of events in the series, the music made by composer Ramin Djawadi has it all takes to become hit with the audience. 

As the makers gear up for the eighth and final season of the show to return to the air on April 14, the music composer reveals that he has big plans. Hinting at what's in store for us, Ramin said that the music score of the final season is intense and epic.

Without giving out spoilers, he said, the score "definitely gets intense and more epic than ever", according to reports variety.com.

The German-Iranian composer added, "This season will have new material that we haven't heard before, but lots of the existing themes will also return. It started out intentionally small but as the story expanded, the dragons arrived, the battles grew, the drama got bigger and bigger, the music had to grow with it. We added bigger orchestras, more choir, more instrumentation all around."

When the 'GoT' executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss approached him, he had worked with Hans Zimmer on several projects but didn't have many solo credits.

Apart from 'GoT', he had TV's 'Prison Break', a remake of 'Clash of the Titans' and 'Iron Man' to his credit. 

The final season has the largest ensemble yet -- a 60-piece orchestra, a 40-voice mixed chorus and a 12-voice children choir.
