Good news for director James Gunn as news reports suggest that he may come back to direction with ‘Suicide Squad 2’, after being fired from Marvel’s ‘Guardian of the Galaxy’.

Disney had discontinued Gunn from the franchise after his old tweets from 2008 and 2009 were picked on the social media -- in which he had made insensitive and controversial jokes -- making light of topics such as rape and paedophilia. The controversy did not die down even after he apologised for the tweets and removed them from his account.

Even though his ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ journey ended abruptly, looks like Gunn is back as he is not only directing ‘Suicide Squad 2’ but also writing. The film will apparently come out under the name of The Suicide Squad.

Meanwhile, Margot Robbie who played Harley Quinn in the first film also shared the first picture of her look for her upcoming DC film, ‘Birds of Prey’. She will reprise her role as the maniac criminal turned hero in ‘Suicide Squad’ spin-off film.

Gunn is also working on another film, ‘Brightburn’ that is set to release on May 24.
