'Fanney Khan' song 'Achhe Din' changed to avoid 'unnecessary political colouring'

Anil Kapoor starrer 'Fanney Khan' has run into controversy days before its release. One of the songs from the film, 'Acche Din Kab Aayenge' has been dragged into controversy with people using the song to criticise the current government. 

A tabloid reports that the makers of 'Fanney Khan' have now decided to pull down the video and change the song to  'Acche Din Ab Aaye Re'. According to the tabloid, the makers allegedly got calls from 'high places' requesting a change in the song. 

The film's director Atul Manjrekar told the tabloid that the song was getting needless 'political colour' which made them change it. "We cut a new video and released it now because our song was unnecessarily taking a political colour. It didn't strike us that this is also the slogan of the government. We didn't expect such a reaction. Fanney Khan is a simple film about a cab driver and his dreams. I hope people see the song in the right context and not misconstrue it," said Manjrekar.

The song shows Anil Kapoor, a cab driver in Mumbai, struggling to make meets end and make his family live a good life. Much like the original song, the new version will also be a part of the film. 

Many people were using the original song to make memes and criticise the BJP government, whose slogan during the elections was 'Acche Din'. 

A source close to the film alleged that calls from 'high places' were made to the makers of the film to make the changes. 

'Fanney Khan' also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao. The film will be releasing in theatres on 3rd August.
