Story highlights

Tom Cruise will be seen reprising his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt.

Tom Cruise starrer ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ will have a new actor take over as antagonist.

Nicholas Hoult has been replaced by Esai Morales. Although there isn’t any information on what the role entailed, we do know that Nicholas had to step back due to scheduling concerns that went topsy turvy as everything had to shut down because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The film’s production was brought to halt in March and it’s unclear when filming will restart.

While Esai Morales has taken over the role, he might have an issue with the scheduling too as dates might clash for his other obligation -- shooting Hulu’s second season of ‘The Great’.

Tom Cruise will be meanwhile seen reprising his role as Ethan Hunt, a globe-trotting secret agent. The star cast includes Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby.

The film ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ will have Christopher McQuarrie both write and direct.

The film’s release date has been pushed to November 19, 2021 while the eighth installment will hit the screens on November 4, 2022.
