Emraan Hashmi cast as lead in Netflix's new series on 'The Bard of Blood'

Emraan Hashmi will now be seen on Netflix as he is cast as lead actor for a series on author Bilal Siddiqi's The Bard Of Blood. 

The announcement was made on Netflix India’s twitter page as they wrote: “God has given you one face and you make another. Emraan Hashmi is Kabir Anand in The Bard of Blood!"

Emraan meanwhile tweeted: "'To be, or not to be'... The answer is to be. Ready 'to be' Kabir Anand. Excited to be a part of this thrilling journey!"

The Bard Of Blood is set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent, a multilingual series that will tell the story of an expelled spy named Kabir Anand. He is then recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and a long-lost love.

The series will show Emraan’s combination of combat skills, intellectual background and personal circumstances that propel his character Kabir to avenge the past and face his deadliest enemies in a race against time.

Also, Shah Rukh Khan who is a part of the show welcomes Emraan and tweeted: "Be! Be! Welcome aboard my friend. Here’s to a journey full of excitement & drama."

To this, Emraan responded: "The King hath spoken... getting into my character already. ? Thank you for making me a part of this journey, @iamsrk . We’ll make something special !!"
