'Dream Girl' earns Rs 44 crore in its first weekend, 'Chhichhore' inches towards Rs 100 crore

Two of the recent Bollywood releases are doing great business at the box office. Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Dream Girl' released on September 13 and has already earned Rs 44. 57 crores at the box office in the first weekend. 

Sharing the film's weekend collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#DreamGirl runs riot at the BO... Packs a fantastic total, setting the BO on fire on Day 2 and 3... Trends better than #Raazi [₹ 32.94 cr], #Stree [₹ 32.27 cr] and #Uri [₹ 35.73 cr]... Fri 10.05 cr, Sat 16.42 cr, Sun 18.10 cr. Total: ₹ 44.57 cr. #India biz."

The film, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, received a mixed response from critics. While Khurrana's performance was lauded by everyone, many reviews indicated that the film's story failed to create an impact.Read the film's review here.

Meanwhile, NItesh Tiwari's campus-sports film 'Chhichhore' is still going strong at the box office and is now inching towards Rs 100 crore club. In the first week, the film earned a total of Rs 68.83 crores and in the second week, the film earned another Rs 25.23 crore adding up to a total of  Rs 94.06 cr.
