Disappointed with season 8, 'Game of Thrones' fans sign a petition demanding remake

We told you earlier that the latest season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is also the worst-rated with fans now asking for a remake of it. Reportedly, thousands of fans have signed a petition on Change.org titled ‘Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers’ asking for the makers to take a backseat and let new writers take the story forward in the final season of the massively hit show. The petition reads: “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”. It is written by a guy named Dylan D who started a petition addressed to HBO.

Apart from the storyline of the show, people have also called out on the gaffe like episode 3 being “too dark”, a Starbucks coffee cup cameo in episode 4 and apparently Jaime Lannister growing back his hand in episode 5 (although this was not real). 

Fans have called out on Daenerys Targaryen’s move in episode 5 in which she is shown burning the entire King’s Landing. They have also disapproved of Jon Snow’s role in the entire season. Read the review of episode 5 here. 

Interestingly, even the cast if the fantasy series is not happy with how their characters have developed over time in the last season. Actor Conleth Hill who played the role of Lord Varys told Entertainment Weekly, “ As a whole, it’s been overwhelmingly positive and brilliant, but I suppose the last couple seasons weren’t my favourite.”

Reports suggest that even Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) among others agree with fans that the final season hasn’t been up to the mark.
