Deepika Padukone reveals details about her film 'Chhapaak' with Meghna Gulzar

Newlywed actress Deepika Padukone is back to work for film director Meghna Gulzar titled ‘Chhapaak’. 

We informed you earlier that Vikrant Massey will star opposite Deepika in the film that is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi. Laxmi hails from Delhi. 

Deepika tweeted on Monday revealing details about the film as she captioned it: “A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit. Elated to collaborate with Fox Star Studios on #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @masseysahib @foxstarhindi.”

Apart from starring in the film, Deepika will also produce it. Speaking about it, she said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror: “When I heard this story, I was deeply moved as it’s not just one of violence but of strength and courage, hope and victory. It made such an impact on me, that personally and creatively, I needed to go beyond and so the decision to turn producer.”

Deepika was busy throughout last month with her wedding festivities as she got married to longtime beau Ranveer Singh in Lake Como, Italy. Professionally, she was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’.
