Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh exchange rings in a traditional Konkani ceremony, to tie the knot today

Two of Bollywood's biggest stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to tie the knot today- 14th November at Lake Como, Italy. The couple who have been in a relationship for the last 6 years, exchanged rings on Tuesday in an intimate ceremony where mobile phones were strictly prohibited. 

On Tuesday, the couple took part in Phool Muddi ceremony (a traditional Konkani engagement ceremony) which was followed by a sangeet and Mehendi ceremony in the evening. Harshdeep Kaur and Shubha Mudgal reportedly performed at the ceremony which saw bride-to-be Deepika getting emotional at one point of time, only to be consoled by her husband-to-be Ranveer Singh. Ranveer’s hair stylist Nitasha Gaurav, who is at Lake Como to attend the functions, tweeted yesterday, "No pictures, but it was love personified to see them together today. Couldn’t stop my tears, but these were tears of happiness."

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will be dressing up both bride and the groom for their wedding ceremonies. While on 14th the Konkoni wedding ceremony will take place keeping in mind Deepika's background, on 15th the couple will have north-Indian style wedding to respect Ranveer's side of family traditions. From Bollywood, only Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan have reportedly been invited for the wedding. It is not clear yet if these celebrities are attending today's ceremony. The couple will be hosting two receptions once they are back in India. First, in Deepika's hometown Bengaluru on November 21st and then a big bash in Mumbai on November 28th for Bollywood friends.
