Media reports have indicated that the ending of the new 'X- Men' movie resembled the ending of another superhero film and hence the makers had to entire re-shoot the film's climax.

When you have a universe cluttered with superhero films, repetitions are bound to happen. While many would argue that almost all superhero films have similar endings with the villain ( which is mainly a CGI figure) despite having ultimate power gets defeated by the superhero in the end but still makers try to make each of the films different from the other.

Which is why 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' had to be reshot- well at least some of the scenes. Media reports have indicated that the ending of the new 'X- Men' movie resembled the ending of another superhero film and hence the makers had to entire re-shoot the film's climax.

'Dark Phoenix' in fact had been announced long back but then went through major delay as the film was being re-shot in 2018.

Actors Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy recently confirmed the news to Yahoo Movies while promoting their film. "The finale HAD to change,” McAvoy said. “There was a lot of overlap and parallels with another superhero movie that came out... a while ago. And we had no idea that we were...”—“That they had spied on set,” Fassbender added jokingly. Also read: Does 'Dark Phoenix' mark the end for Fox's X-Men?

Neither actor went into detail on which superhero film they were talking about but reports have it that the film's climax was similar to the ending of 'Captain Marvel' which released earlier this year.

Part of the 'X-Men' series, the 'Dark Phoenix' has GOT star Sophie Turner in the lead role. Along with McAvoy and Fassbender, the film also stars Jessica Chastain.

'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' will be releasing in theatres on 7th June.
