Story highlights

Organised by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association, the annual awards honoured the achievements in movies and TV over the past year.

Alfonso Cuarón’s black-and-white family drama Roma gave tough competition to ' A Star Is Born' at the Critics Choice Awards and took home the Best Film and director award on Sunday night. 

Organised by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association, the annual awards honoured the achievements in movies and TV over the past year.

Christian Bale, Lady Gaga, Glenn Close won top acting honours. Bale won for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in 'Vice' while Gaga shared the award with Close. 

'Crazy Rich Asians' was given the award for Best Comedy Film while Mahershala Ali for 'Green Book' and Regina King for 'If Beale Street Could Talk' got supporting actor and actress accolades respectively.
