'Bharat' box office collection: Film records biggest opening ever for Salman Khan
Story highlights
'Bharat' released on June 5 as it tells the journey of a man and a nation together, both called by the same name.
You can call it a perfect Eid for Salman Khan and his fans as his latest release ‘Bharat’ has managed to start with a bumper opening on day 1. Released on June 5, the film struck gold as it recorded a good number at the box office even though it coincided with two other things -- India’s first cricket match in this World Cup Tournament and release of ‘Dark Phoenix’.
According to early estimates, ‘Bharat’ earned more than Rs 45 crore on its opening day. The film released in 4700 screens across India.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted earlier today that 'Bharat' is Salman Khan's biggest Eid opener, surpassing first day collections of his previous hit film 'Sultan'. It is also his biggest opening ever as it surpassed the first-day collections of 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' in which he starred with Sonam Kapoor.

While many thought that the film might suffer because of the same day clash with India's first cricket match in World Cup Tournament, the film proved to be a surprise.
#Bharat sets the BO on 🔥🔥🔥... East, West, North, South... Multiplexes, single screens... Metros, non-metros... Day 1 biz was mind boggling across the board, despite tough opposition from the crucial and much-hyped cricket match [#IndvSA #CWC19].
