BAFTA 2020 will go ahead under new COVID-19 restrictions.

Good news here as BATA 2020 will go ahead with this year’s awards ceremony. The organisers have announced new dates for the rescheduled event that will follow COVID-19 restrictions.

BAFTA was originally scheduled for spring but the event was postponed after the coronavirus outbreak brought the entire world to a standstill.

According to a new announcement, the BAFTA TV craft awards will be held July 17 and the main TV awards will take place on July 31.

Hosts have also been announced, with Stephen Mangan returning for a ninth consecutive time for the craft awards and Richard Ayoade performing hosting duties for the TV awards for the first time.

There is one major change, however, as the award shows will take place in a closed studio with nominees invited to accept their awards virtually.

The nominations for the awards will be announced June 4.
