Story highlights

British Academy of Film And Television Arts Awards 2020 nominations list is now in news for being 'racist' as the acting nods do not include a single non-white actor.

The nominations are led by Joaquin Phoenix starrer 'Joker' with a total tally of 11 nods.

Joaquin Phoenix starrer 'Joker' leads the BAFTA 2020 film nominations with a total tally of 11 nods followed by Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman' with 10 and Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' also on 10. The three films 'Joker', 'The Irishman' and 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' are also competing for best Film award alongside '1917' that won the Golden Globe for Best Film and Golden Globe winner 'Parasite' that picked Best Foreign Film.

Among the actors, there is 'Marriage Story' Scarlett Johansson and 'Bombshell' actress Margot Robbie for acting nominations. Interestingly, Margot Robbie is nominated in the Best-Supporting actress category for two films, 'Bombshell' and 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood'.
