The film has already been leaked online by piracy website Tamilrockers. 

In a film that depicts the caste issue in rural India, Ayushmann plays the role of a police officer. 

‘Article 15’ is based on the Indian constitution’s Article 15 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, sex or place of birth. The film has received a positive response from the audience.

Prior to the release, the film faced ban protests as some fringe groups stated that the film hurt their sentiments. It got five modifications from Central Board of Film Certification before the release. 

After the film’s release, Brahmins outfit protested against the film as they say that their community has been wrongly portrayed. Read more on this here.
