Story highlights

The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s next film ‘Article 15’ is finally here. From the first looks, it is sure to be one of the most hard-hitting film to be made this year.

Ayushmann plays a cop in this intense trailer which begins with the rape and murder of two Dalit girls. In the voiceover, Zeeshan Ayub can be heard saying, “Hum kabhi bahujan ho jate hain, kabhi harijan, bus jan nahi ho paa rahe.” What follows is inaction on part of the police and the state machinery. All this while Ayushmann’s character looks keen on getting justice.

Ayushmann captioned the post “Let’s be Indians: Firstly and Lastly Presenting #Article15Trailer, in cinemas on June 28th” as he shared the trailer.

Article 15 in the Indian Constitution prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth -- the film takes on caste bias and how even rape is used as a tool of oppression.

The film also features Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Nasser, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in important roles.
