The previous films, 'Munna Bhai MBBS' and 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' were major hits at the box office.

Anyone who calls themselves a Hindi movie fan will remember when they saw Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt together in lead roles together on the big screen. The duo that made the characters of Munna Bhai and Circuit famous are said to make a return on the screen in a film from the much-loved franchise.

In an interview recently with PTI, Arshad Warsi confirmed that work on Munna Bhai third instalment will start soon. He said, “I do know that the script is pretty much ready. I do know from Rajkumar Hirani that the film will go on floors this year - either mid or the end of the year. The work on the script is going on. As of now, yes it's Sanjay Dutt and me. These are the things I've been told.”

The first film, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ released in 2003, and its sequel ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ released three years later in 2006. Now after more than a decade, the duo will be seen making a comeback together. However, there is no information on the female lead. While the first had Gracy Singh and second had Vidya Balan; it will be interesting to see who will take up the role in the next film.

Divulging more details on the role, Arshad said, “I tend to do my film and forget about my character and I move on to the next one. I tend to forget, which is what happened with Munna Bhai. When I came for the second part, I was doing the same role differently. I realised something isn't quite right. Then Rajkumar Hirani and I saw a couple of scenes from the first one and remembered how I should be doing. This time too, I'm sure I'll do it.”

Arshad was recently seen in a reprised version of his own song ‘Aankh Maarey’ that was picturised on film ‘Simmba’ cast Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. The song also saw the ‘Golmaal’ cast come together including Arshad.
