Amid wedding rumours, Farhan Akhtar says he will 'soon make a special announcement'

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar may not have openly admitted to their relationship, but the two have dropped major hints on social media by posting photos of each other. 

On Wednesday, as Farhan Akhtar turned 45, entertainment website Bollywood Life reported that he had exchanged rings with Shibani and the couple were set to get married soon. While there has been no official confirmation on the report from either of them, Farhan sort of hinted at marriage during an event. 

Farhan Akthar was interacting with the media at the trailer launch of his forthcoming production venture `Gully Boy` along with film`s actor Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, filmmaker sister Zoya Akhtar and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani on Wednesday in Mumbai.

The actor was quizzed about his next film and his relationship with Shibani. To which he replied, "I have got `The Sky is Pink` as an actor which is being directed by Shonali Bose and there is going to be very special announcement, but this is not the time and the platform to announce it. The audience will hear about it very soon and I hope that excites them," said Akhtar.

Meanwhile Shibani posted a photo with Farhan on Instagram and captioned it as, "Because he has the coolest tattoo in the world and because it’s his bday! Happy birthday my sweet grumps love you loads @faroutakhtar"

At the trailer launch event, actor Ranveer Singh who was in his usual element during trailer launch of `Gully Boy` rapped iconic `Tum Jiyo Hazaaron Saal` birthday song on Farhan Akhtar`s birthday.

On Wednesday night, Farhan threw a party at his residence for his friends and family members. Shibani Dandekar was there for the celebrations along with Ritesh Sidhwani, Shaad Ali and others. 

Earlier reports stated that the two exchanged rings a few weeks back and are looking at a April or May wedding. If this happens, Farhan and Shibani will be the first couple to tie the knot in 2019 in Bollywood. 

Farhan Akhtar was earlier married to Adhuna Bhabani for 16 years. The couple separated in 2017. They have two daughters together.
