Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha will stun you in 'Kalank' posters

‘Kalank’ makers teased their fans with new posters of their female cast with the hashtag #WomenOfKalank on International Women’s Day. 

While Alia Bhatt is introduced as Roop, Madhuri Dixit is Bahaar Begum and Sonakshi Sinha is Satya. The first of the lot to come out was Alia Bhatt’s, covered with a dupatta that acts as a veil. She is seen adorning silver jewellery. Madhuri called Alia’s Roop: “She’s full of life and has a heart of gold,” while Sonakshi added, “Free, bound only by love! This is Roop!”

Sonakshi described her character Satya as, “Love, longing, integrity and sacrifice... this is what SATYA stands for,” while Alia wrote that she is “the one who holds the family together.” 

Madhuri shared the photo from Kalank and wrote, “Here’s Satya! The one who is an ocean of love.”

Alia Bhatt wrote about Madhuri’s character from Kalank, “The ethereal and enigmatic enchantress. Here’s Bahaar Begum!” while Karan Johar termed her the queen of hearts, “Enchanting, ethereal & timeless. The true ‘Begum’ of hearts, Bahaar!” 

Madhuri herself wrote on Twitter, “It was my honour to play such an enchanting character. Here’s Bahaar Begum!”

Yesterday the makers revealed character posters of the men in the film, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. 

Karan shared the first glimpse from the upcoming film earlier and also penned an emotional note. Set in the 40s, the film was envisioned by Yash Johar and Karan tried to make it a reality.

The film is directed by Abhishek Varman and is a period drama. It is set to hit the big screens on April 19, 2019.
