In the film, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was supposed to play the challenging role of a surrogate mother.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has walked out of ‘Jasmine’, film in which she was supposed to play the challenging role of a surrogate mother.

Aishwarya had earlier confirmed her commitment to the project when she informed that she is in talks with writers Sidharth and Garima. The actress said, “Our talks had stopped around February this year, but now, I will take the discussion further. Right now, I don’t know whether I’m doing it or not. I liked the concept, but asked them to make a few changes to the script.”

In an update now, Aishwarya has turned down Jasmine. A source close to the actress revealed to DNA: “There were several loopholes in the script. Although Siddharth and Garima’s basic idea was strong, there were many problems with the story, which the actress had reportedly pointed out to the writer duo. After the corrections, they approached her with a fresh script, but Ash still felt she couldn’t relate to it. So, she politely informed the team that she won’t be able to do the film anymore.”

After Aishwarya’s name was taken off the film, producer Shree Narayan Singh has also backed out. The film, from what it looks like, has been pushed indefinitely.  Narayan said, “The film should have gone on floors by now. But Siddharth and Garima, too, had other commitments to complete. So, I will not be able to tell you when it will start. It’s currently on hold.”
