Writer Apurva Asrani now supports 'Manikarnika' co-director Krish in saying that the actress took the credit where she did not deserve.

Ever since a film on historical figure Queen of Jhansi was announced with Kangana Ranaut playing the titular role, it has been embroiled with controversies. In a fresh update, writer Apurva Asrani now supports 'Manikarnika' co-director Krish in saying that the actress took the credit where she did not deserve.

Just yesterday we told you that ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ co-director Krish accused Kangana of taking over the film and said, “I don’t know how Kangana can sleep well by taking the first credit in direction when she does not deserve it.”

He added on how much of his portions have been cut from the film and said, “Difficult to say. But I think Kangana has done 20-25 per cent of the first half. I didn’t shoot a song and I didn’t shoot her entry scene. In the second half, she has even re-shot some scenes which I had done in a different way. But it’s okay now. The film is looking brilliant. I am happy that she didn’t spoil it much.”

After Krish addressed the issue, Apurva slammed the actress and said that she "hijacked" ‘Simran’ too. Calling Kangana an "insecure", Apurva further claimed, just like ‘Manikarnika’, she made ‘Simran’ all about her, too, by "deleting other actors lines".

He tweeted: "What's going to hurt more brother Krish is that she will run a vicious smear campaign to destroy your credibility."

"I wrote #Simran with a passion similar to the man in the video. But an insecure #KanganaRanaut started deleting other actors lines on set & made it about her. Krish explains in frustration how she cut out historical characters from #Manikarnika too," Apurva tweeted.

Apurva also took a dig at ‘Simran’ director Hansal Mehta for not standing up for him at the time.

"Hansal Mehta, THIS is the mindf*** you & Kangana put me through on Simran which led me to a breakdown. If you had the courage to stand up then, we could have weathered many more storms together. I salute Krish's courage & goodness, especially when he talks of his team. #catharsis."

‘Manikarnika’ was also in news last year when fellow actor Sonu Sood quit the film after Kangana took over as the director. She accused Sonu of not wanting to work under a woman director, something Sonu vehemently refused.
