'Article 15' teaser out as Ayushmann Khurrana's film takes on Badaun gangrape and murder

The much-awaited teaser of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Article 15’ is out. 

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film is based on the Indian Constitution’s Article 15 that prohibits the state from discriminating any citizen on the ground of any religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth or any of them. 

In the teaser released, Ayushmann plays the role of a cop as he is seen talking about issues related to Article 15. It is an investigative thriller that is set against the backdrop of the Badaun gangrape and murder case which took place in the year 2014. In one of the scenes, he is seen staring at the photo frame of both Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkar.

Sharing the poster of the film earlier, Ayushmann wrote, “Farq Bahut Kar Liya, Ab Farq Laayenge”. 

The film’s trailer will release on May 30, 2019. Apart from Ayushmann, the film also stars Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles. 

It will hit the theatres on June 28, 2019.
