Sensex trades flat, Nifty tests 11,950

Indian stock market indices were trading flat with a negative bias on Monday as Asian stocks edged up, catching some of Wall Street's momentum after surprisingly strong United States (US) jobs data

At 10:0 am, the Sensex traded 40.47 points - or 0.10 per cent - higher at 40,485.62 while the Nifty was up by 7.65 points - or 0.064 per cent - at 11,929.15.

Earlier, in the morning Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal and Nifty Media indices were all trading over 1 per cent higher, the Bank Nifty was largely flat while Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT indices slipped around 0.5 per cent.
