Nifty hits 10,500 for first time, Sensex ends week on high note

Dalal Street rejoiced as Nifty hits 10,500 for the first time. Sensex also rallied up over 200 points today. 

Earlier today, S&P BSE Sensex was shy of 46 points from hitting 34,000.

NSE Nifty was just 8 points away from the 10,500 mark for the first time. 

Sensex smashed its Wednesday's record by touching 33,959.46 points today.

While Sensex opened at 33,768.47 points, it continued trading at 33,919.51 points.

Some of the top BSE gainers from the surge included Tata Consultancy Services, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, State Bank of India and Wipro among others.

Infosys, India's second largest IT company, witnessed a 52-week high in its share value, rising over 2%.
