Story highlights

Analysts suggest the stock markets soar further if PM Modi makes a comeback for the second term.

The stock markets on Wednesday ended in green with BSE Sensex jumping 140.41 points to close at 39,110.21. NSE Nifty rose 28.80 points to end at 11,737.90.

In early trade today morning, Sensex jumped over 150 points led by gains in oil and gas, banking and IT stocks, ahead of the general election results.

NSE Nifty rose 30.90 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 11,740.

Analysts suggest the stock markets soar further if PM Modi makes a comeback for the second term. Exit polls have predicted a massive and comfortable win for Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party in Lok Sabha polls 2019, the results of which are due on Thursday.

The BSE Sensex index rose by its biggest amount in one day since September 2013 on Monday after exit polls showed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) party led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will retain power for a second consecutive term.
