In a meeting convened today, the shareholders of Tata Sons voted to remove Cyrus Mistry as director.

"The shareholders of Tata Sons Ltd, at the extraordinary general meeting held today, passed, with the requisite majority, a resolution to remove Cyrus P Mistry as a Director of Tata Sons Ltd," the Tata Group's holding firm said in a statement.

Cyrus Mistry had legally challenged the holding of the EGM.

Last week, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) dismissed petitions by two investment firms of the Mistry family against the holding of the EGM.

Tata Sons had removed Cyrus Mistry as its chairman on October 24 last year. Subsequently, he resigned from the boards of six group companies.
