China officially started the commercialisation of 5G services on Thursday, with the country's three major telecom operators rolling out their 5G data plans, according to information released at PT Expo China 2019.

The three telecom operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, have already pushed 5G preregistration with plentiful discounts and free 5G data allowance and managed to attract interest from more than 10 million subscribers after they were granted commercial-use licenses for the superfast wireless technology in early June.

Asia's leading information and communications technology (ICT) event, PT Expo China 2019, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, is expected to highlight 5G applications in various industries.
