Indian budget carrier SpiceJet is set to test a flight partially powered by biofuel today. The flight will be operated between Dehradun and Delhi.

According to reports, a biofuel blend will power one of the turbine engines of SpiceJet's Q400 turboprop which will take off from Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport and will land at Delhi's IGI Airport Terminal 2.

While this will be India's first attempt to test a biofuel-powered flight, countries like Canada, Australia, the United States are already operating such commercial flights.
